Once
you have identified a pet you would like to adopt from WAG, the first
step is to complete the Adoption Application(above) and return
it to us. When we have your completed application, our Adoption
Coordinator will contact you to continue the process. When your application is
approved, we arrange a meeting with the pet selected. If this goes
well, we then place the pet on a foster agreement for a trial period.
This usually lasts about 2 weeks. If all goes well, we go to the final
adoption. We use the foster before adopting approach so that everyone
is comfortable before going to an adoption Adoption Guarantee: Even
after the adoption, if at anytime for any reason you cannot keep the
pet, WAG will take the pet back without hesitation.
We take re-homing of the animals in our care very seriously and make every attempt to find the right home for each animal. Our return rate is very low and happiness factor for all is very high. Frequently Asked Questions:Question: Can't I just come see the animals you have first? Answer: WAG animals are in foster homes and are seen by appointment. Our web site is our way of providing a preview of the animals available for adoption. Question: Do you
actually check references? Answer: Yes - all WAG animals are thoroughly examined by a WAG approved vet, given any vaccinations that are due, tested for heart worm and infectious diseases. Question: Are WAG pets
spayed or neutered? Answer: Yes - We appreciate a minimum donation of $100 for dogs and $35 for cats. Question: Is my
adoption donation tax deductible? |
